Reading about Dave Niehaus passing away reminded me of Chris Bosio.  I decided to look him up on ESPN to see if he was as bad of a pitcher as I remember.

When he was with the Mariners, yep, he was that bad.  But I discovered this bizarre season he had in 1988 with the (at the time) American League Brewers.

The Boz pitched in 38 games for the Brewers in 1988, starting 22 of them.  He threw NINE complete games that season, or 40% of his starts.  That nine complete games would have tied Halladay for the major league lead this year.  Bosio also recorded six saves that year, and ended up with a 7-15 record.

Now that is involvement in a pitching staff.
